The NI cDAQ-T4202 (Part Number: 868014-01) is a complete temperature measurement package designed for quality data acquisition in test and measurement applications. The assembly consists of a cDAQ-9174 four-slot USB chassis combined with two high-density NI-9213 16-channel thermocouple input modules for a total of 32 isolated temperature measurement channels. The total assembly includes the necessary accessories for mounting and use including a backshell connector, desktop mounting kit, USB cable and AC/DC power supply. Everything is included to provide a complete package that is ready to use right out of the box.
The cDAQ-T4202 is designed for mixed signal test systems where thermocouple measurement needs to be performed without taking up excessive slots in the chassis. Each NI-9213 supplied in the kit shows high-accuracy data measurement, achieving up to 24 bits using a delta-sigma AD converter. The user can set the modules for high-speed or high-resolution measurement modes with a maximum of 75 samples per second aggregate maximum data speed. Important added features of the measurement modules are built-in cold junction compensation and thermocouple open circuit detection that increase the reliability of the measurement. The modules have an input range of 78.125 mV and will measure all standard thermocouple types, e.g., J, K, T, E, N, B, R, and S. An important safety feature is the 250 Vrms channel to earth isolation barrier for operator and equipment safety that also improves noise immunity in harsh electrical industrial environments.
The cDAQ-9174 chassis is the workhorse of the system, providing transmission system connections to the host computer through the installation of a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed port. The timing subsystem features a system accuracy of 50 ppm with a timing resolution of 12.5 ns, providing the measurement accuracy required for data acquisition chores over all currently installed modules.
This combination of hardware makes the cDAQ-T4202 suitable for all miscellaneous applications ranging from environmental observations, industrial control, laboratory research, product validation and approval. The ability to set-up quickly through software such as FlexLogger or LabVIEW, permits high levels of sophisticated inline calculations to be performed, data logging to standard data formats, data analysis procedures and an easy method of sensor connections greatly speeding the entire system operation from sensor measurement to data analysis.
